Appointment text messages
What Crewty's appointment texts are, how customers opt in, and how to stop them.
Businesses that use Crewty can send their own customers short text messages about appointments. The messages come from the business you booked with. Crewty is the scheduling software that sends them on that business's behalf, and every message names the business so you always know who it is from.
How customers opt in
When you book an appointment on a Crewty booking page, the form includes a checkbox next to your phone number. It is not ticked by default. You receive appointment texts only if you tick it yourself.
This is exactly how it appears on the booking form:
Optional, and not required to book. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See the Privacy Policy and SMS terms.
Shown for illustration, and starting unticked exactly as it does on the real form. Nothing here is submitted. On a live booking page the name shown here is the actual business you are booking with.
A business can also add an existing customer's number directly, when that customer has given the business their number and been told the business sends appointment texts.
What the messages say
There are three kinds, and nothing else. Crewty does not send marketing or promotional texts, and never sends texts on its own behalf.
- A welcome message, once, when your number is first added. For example: “Crewty: Sparkle Home Cleaning appointment texts. Frequency varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.”
- A reminder before your appointment. For example: “Sparkle Home Cleaning: reminder, your Deep Clean is tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- An on-the-way message when staff set off. For example: “Sparkle Home Cleaning: Maria is on the way for your Deep Clean, about 15 min away. Reply STOP to opt out.”
How often
Message frequency depends on how often you book. Typically one to a few messages per appointment. There are no messages between appointments.
Stopping the messages
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will get one confirmation and then nothing further. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. You can also ask the business to remove your number.
Message and data rates may apply.
